In This Caravan Of Life

In this caravan of life people come and go but seldom one touches the soul
Who'll hold a candle in your darkest hours and stand by you in your lethal wars
Solving the complex riddles and the symphony of chaos & confusion in your head
The caravan of your life taking its bearing and course on words they have said

Alas she's none of it!!

She's the 'been through there' & 'done that and got bored' girl you'll encounter
So probably she'll unlit your little false lamps of hope & mock you as a jester
She'll add her own chaos in 'E Minor' to yours making symphony a rhyming rap
And all the bearings you took from her will have you ending up in Devil's lap

Alas she's not so evil!!

She rebelled against the world a long time before she even gained her senses
Claimed her independence from the society in which she pretends to be within the fences
All these million rules and laws lie shattered & broken in a corner of her head
If they read the minds she'd be outlawed long ago saying 'wanted alive or dead'

Alas she's not Che Guevara!!

She's as enigmatic as some Scorpio can be
Smiling at the lesser souls trying hard not to get preachy
Setting her own ways for sailing through life breaking free
May many more birthdays compound your joys and shopping spree

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RICHA SINGH!!!

Fairest Love

To smell the fragrance of Godly union of souls

To hear the 'til death do us part' vows

To see two people but one life before them

To taste the nectar of fairest love from heaven

To touch the universe two souls possess together

Saarah and Yasir request your presence to shower your blessings on this sacrosanct matrimony.

* written for my dear dear friend Saarah. May God bless you both!

For that was my best time

How I miss my city
The lanes, the malls, the cigarette shop
How I miss my home
My bed, my parents, mom-cooked meals
How I miss my love
Her talks, her presence, her lectures
How I miss my friends
Shit heads, dumb heads, comrades

Tsunami of memories flood my mind
As I struggle to stay afloat
In a moment what was around me
Is just happy video tapes of memories

How my heart long and craves
Can someone bring back those days?
Rest of my life I'll look back
And smile, for that was my best time!

Guest Post 'Shooting for the moon' by Poetess

Its been a long time that I have seen stars in the sky,
This thick grey cloud clogging up the city nighttime,
Hiding so cruelly all the precious diamonds in the sky.
Or is it that the cloud is in our minds, fogging brains?
Of materialism, of egos, of cunning, of always wanting more.
A disease permeates our generation—shooting for the moon.
And shoot some people who stand in your way too.
Where friendship is obsolete, its all professional here.
Black coats, black trousers and blacker hearts.
Its been a long time since I saw the sun set over the Ganges
But I still see corpses floating down everyday.
Only this time, its not just decomposed dead bodies.
It is the stench of decaying decadent souls.

The above poem is of my favorite poet-blogger Poetess you can visit her blog Emotions Here.

I say Night Is Peace

I say Night Is Peace

I step out of my balcony
And suddenly a world welcomes me
Everything is so silent
The world seems to be at peace
The night appears empty and still
Like a wheel which has stopped

I stood in my balcony, motionless
Some random dogs barking-somewhere
Some airplanes flying overhead
Like moving toys with flashy lights
In the star studded sky with silent moon
Streets- empty without being haunting

Wind Comes and all the leaves dance
I want to join this orchestra of leaves
And dance on this sound of the leaves
But then the wind passes
Trees fall silent; calm and composed
Its a different world out there

If only you have empty mind to see.

Who Is This I ?

In a mind run riot
By endless dreams and desires
Peace is an eluding butterfly
But when it descends
I have a glimpse
Of God Of Enlightenment Of Maya

The nectar of silence
Tastes like final freedom
When thoughts naturally die
And desires lose their charm
I'm here with all my awareness
Learning how This Moment feels

My body has a rhythm, a soul
My breaths have a sound
My heartbeats have a pulse
My skin has so many sensations
My eyes are so relaxed
My head feels huge, sans thoughts

Thoughts Dreams Desire Future Past
Delusion Illusion Pleasure Pain
So powerless to enter my cave
I, Me, Myself, You, Them, Her
Who is this I?
I find myself lifted in the sky.

Cunningness in men I see

Everywhere I go
Cunningness in men I see
Hurt by their selfish intentions
Bruised by their vilified actions
Their words stinks of motives and
Hearts filled with fake pretentions

Hidden behind flowery words
Buried beneath measured smiles
They hide their daggers and lies
They are enemies in disguise

I wonder if at night they feel guilty
I wonder if 'shame' exists in their mind
Give 'em an inch they snatch a mile
Still a frowning face you get everytime.

Guest Post 'Woman' By Priya

She is thrown out, as a piece of paper;
once a beautiful handcrafted piece
carved with love and happiness.

She is thrown out, as a piece of thread;
once woven with silk
to bring the beauty of hers.

She is thrown out, as a piece of wood;
Once bathed with sandal
to enjoy the love of lust.

She is thrown out, as a piece of flesh;
once tangled with silent cries
and a petal full of dreams.

She is thrown out, as a piece of woman;
once reflected and admired
by the man she loved.

Those Who Have Achieved

Mountains are in the mind
No mountain lies unconquered
Stone towers are build in mind
No tower lies unclimbed

Problems are but imaginary
No problem that can't be solved
Road is never too long, too rough
No road that hasn't been travelled

Oceans rage tests our courage
No oceans that hasn't been crossed
Sky above gazes us all the time
No bird that can go higher than us

Limitations lie in our minds
Boundaries exist in our dreams
Those who have achieved
Threw these limitations away

Burned the boundaries down
Let go of all mind games
Only those who have achieved

This City Is A Fight Club

City City Bang Bang
Welcome To Zooland
Come get a taste
Run gotta win this race
Have a taste of blood
This city is never dull
Hard work Hard fun
What you got son?
Prove your worth here
This city is not fair
Dreams Desire Dares
Winners are very rare
Run Run till you drop
Fight Fight never stop

This city is a Fight Club
A sinister and vice hub
Victims of this city
Winners of this city
Fight for every inch in this city
Make your place
Make your space
Build an empire
Build a worthy name

These dirty roads call
These street dogs hungry
These people smell blood
Thsese dreams look nightmare
From sunrise to sunset
Go fight buddy never rest
Nobody gives a damn
Until you give them crap

City City Bang Bang

These Imaginary Fictional Men

Spending time with worthy books
Is having conversation with wise men
It's like these men come to talk
across centuries
across continents
across languages
across time-space
To share their knowledge
To share their thoughts
And we like a sponge absorb

These books tell me stories
Of far-away mountains and seas
Of seductive women and eternal love
Of ruthless Kings and mighty rulers
Of Sci-fi future and stone age past

Each page each line teaches me
Like a teacher of infinite wisdom
I come to know men and society
And acute observation of behavior

These imaginary fictional men
Become my companions
Like real people they live in my head
With their stories and emotions.

Except You.

Incense sticks fill the air
Your presence to feel is rare
I get goosebumps in my hair
Your glory is demon-slayer

Overwhelmed in your company
Graceful in thy presence
Blessed by you I become a saint
Without You I'm maimed

Who should I seek?
Except You.
Where should I go?
Except inside.
Who should I know?
Except me.
Who will bring peace?
Except You.

In You I Find Peace

Sit I here in silence
Sit I here to wait
For God's end of hate
God you are my fate

Rid me of my ignorance
Fill me with sense
Bring Me eternal peace
Touch me like soft breeze

I call you in distress
Forge you in pleasure
Make my mind thy home
Make my thoughts your abode

It is in you only I find Peace

Guest Post... 'The Doll' By Nikita Gupta

You are my doll,
Her grandfather said
As he kissed her cheek
And stroked her head.
She was his joy,
His object of affection.
He pampered her silly,
And loved her like none.
And as night came,
So did he,
Into her room
Where she lay asleep.
He touched her sweet, glowing face,
He held her body close to his
And then peeled off layers of clothing,
Standing in the way of carnal bliss.
Her naked flesh ignited desire,
He feasted his eyes on the heavenly sight.
Gently kissed her head to toe,
And then loved her through the night.
At eight, she was his favourite game-
A compliant companion to play with in bed.
Well, it's true, she was his doll,
Just like her loving grandfather said.

Guest Post... 'Longing' by Priya

Now, I no more hear or see the prints,
Its an empty bowl with not trace;
Then, it was trees filled with fruits,
Riped to taste the flavor all over the lips.

Now, the music is sad with unknown,
Left in lurch searching to drink;
Then, the room was filled aloud,
tapping the floors mystical rhyme;
Now, she sits alone close to the window,
As her hair lifts by the wind;
Then, she draped all beautiful and glitter,
To touch the rosy petals waiting to dip;

Now and then,

Time flies at day and night;
She never asks why,
And only the unknown knows.

The above poem is by very talented poet Priya. Her popular journal of poems is here. Priya's other blog is here. Both the blogs are highly recommended.

Lost Childhood 2: The Little Boy

i turned around from the 'beer shop'
unsatisfied with the pics clicked
i saw a sight and took some time
to comprehend the gravity of it
a young boy hardly a pre-teen
sat there in middle of busy crowd
collecting beer bottles in a rucksack
a sight so common you wouldn't even care
but his 'work' caught my attention
sat there he, collecting empty bottles
but also collected the last few sips
from each bottle left by the drinker
and emptied them into a single bottle
then quenched his thirst with the cocktail
half filled bottle like trophy he claimed
who's to blame for street urchin's state?
you or me? society or the shop-owner?
useless governments or high decibel NGO's?
a billion people can take the blame, but
who's to take the first step to stop him
will it be you or will it be me?

Lost Childhood 1: The Little Girl

just another end of frantic day
waiting at a over-cramped bus-stop
i darted at a near-by beer shop
to capture some engrossing snaps
but then she came like an angel
smiling, giggling, with a bruised face
i smiled back and asked her to pose
took some snaps to her bewilderment!
she looked at me with so much awe
her eyes told me she didn't had enough
i prepared to move beyond past her
her lips almost parted to say something
i could read it in her eyes~ an emotion
all she wanted to say was 'bhaiyya' (brother)
i didn't stop lest tears flow from our eyes

she disappeared in a blink of an eye
and our relationship met it's final fate
i moved towards the 'wine and beer shop'
the smell of various liquors intrigued me
the intoxicated and the sober stood in line
when a tall black guy tapped me at my back
with a big grin and sugar coated sweet words
asked me if i was looking for 'something'
perplexed i shook my head, puzzled
he pointed at 'the little girl' in corner
asked me if i was single or with friends
did i have a place or i wanted his?
at reasonable price he could give anything
i looked at the terrified girl's warm eyes
i could see in them her father was the pimp

Part 2 of this poem will be updated soon. the title of which is~
Lost Childhood 2: The Little Boy

Kindly go through this article. I read it in the Tehelka magazine. It's worth giving your time and mind. The article is about The Oberoi Brothers.

Happy Memories In Abyss Of Mind

in the above pic (from left): Nitish, Saumitra, Gautam.

Mind works in strange ways
Happy memories fade away
But the sad ones remain
Like dark clouds without rain

I was sitting with happy mind
Came happy memories from hind
I remembered how some friends
Had fought with me like comrades

Once my honour was at stake
Tears were near & happiness away
My days were full of much miseries
Mammoth enemies planned audacities

Tears brimmed in my eyes
How my friends risked their lives
Also honour and social stature
Everything on the edge for rupture

They held hands & stood by my side
Such fierce loyalty & unwavering love
Humbled I stood with infinite strength
How such memories fall in abyss of mind!

The East India Company Vs. India

I was there playing with butterflies
You came for me with guns and knives
I played with flowers, I played with bees
With a gun you said 'I wont let you be'
I smiled at you and gave you a hug
You pushed me aside & called me stupid fuck
I plucked a flower and lovingly gave it to you
Innocent Oblivion, What were you looking for?
'Power', you yelled 'I need your head to bow.'
Sit on your knees and give me respect
'Better die on foot than live on knees' I said
'Death before Dishonour', I stood with straight head
You said you had everyone on your side
That I'd rot alone with no shoulder to cry
Truth doesn't need yes-sayers it stands alone
'the truth shall set you free?' you laughed sore
With a sick propaganda you spread your lies
A gifted speech to impress the gullible minds
I stood with faith in my heart & I sighed
Deep inside me an inner strength replied.

It was the power of truth power of karma
Invisible yet invincible intangible yet intuitive
Great Power rose through whole body
For any force of the world I was ready
Your face froze, ground slipped beneath feet
Where are your lies? Where's your herd of sheep?
The Truth did set me free
Now, say can I play again with butterflies please?

*it's the feelings of 'India' when the east india company came to rule and enslave it.
